[00:00:14 --> 00:00:17] it's called it the Our Father.

[00:00:20 --> 00:00:24] So boys and girls, when Jesus was here on earth,
[00:00:24 --> 00:00:27] his disciples asked him a really, really important question,
[00:00:27 --> 00:00:28] how do we pray?
[00:00:28 --> 00:00:31] He responded by giving us the Our Father.
[00:00:31 --> 00:00:34] So we're gonna go through all of the words
[00:00:34 --> 00:00:35] of the Our Father.
[00:00:35 --> 00:00:37] And when it comes to the Our Father,

[00:01:10 --> 00:01:13] You have, of course, your own dad.
[00:01:13 --> 00:01:14] Dad should be strong.
[00:01:14 --> 00:01:16] He cuddles with me.
[00:01:16 --> 00:01:19] We play hockey with my brothers and him.
[00:01:19 --> 00:01:19] They should care for you,
[00:01:19 --> 00:01:22] they should want to make you happy.
[00:01:22 --> 00:01:23] But guess what?
[00:01:23 --> 00:01:25] You have a dad in heaven too.
[00:01:25 --> 00:01:26] That is awesome.
[00:01:26 --> 00:01:28] Then we say, who art in heaven.
[00:01:28 --> 00:01:30] What do you think about when you think of heaven?
[00:01:30 --> 00:01:33] I think of like white clouds and angels everywhere,
[00:01:33 --> 00:01:34] playing trumpets.
[00:01:34 --> 00:01:37] An all you can eat buffet in a big hotel.
[00:01:37 --> 00:01:40] Angels playing some instruments.
[00:01:40 --> 00:01:44] What heaven actually is, it's Jesus.
[00:01:44 --> 00:01:49] I made a sky and I'm making little clouds here.

[00:01:53 --> 00:01:54] We got the sun.
[00:01:55 --> 00:01:58] Let's make little rays around it.
[00:01:59 --> 00:02:03] We get to spend forever with Jesus.
[00:02:05 --> 00:02:08] We got the sky, we've got a little clouds,
[00:02:08 --> 00:02:09] that's like heaven.
[00:02:09 --> 00:02:12] We get to spend that much time with Jesus, that's amazing.
[00:02:12 --> 00:02:16] Then the next line goes, hallowed be thy name.

[00:02:19 --> 00:02:21] Not Harold, hallowed.
[00:02:21 --> 00:02:24] Huh? - What does hallowed mean?
[00:02:24 --> 00:02:26] Hallowed means holy.
[00:02:26 --> 00:02:29] We're telling Our Father that he is holy.
[00:02:29 --> 00:02:33] That God is the holiest of holies that ever holied,
[00:02:33 --> 00:02:37] that is God, and so we call him hallowed.
[00:02:37 --> 00:02:42] The next line is thy kingdom come, thy will be done.
[00:02:42 --> 00:02:47] So thy will, we're talking about God's will.
[00:02:48 --> 00:02:49] What does will mean?
[00:02:49 --> 00:02:51] When we will something, we want it
[00:02:51 --> 00:02:53] and that's what God wants.

[00:02:55 --> 00:02:57] What does God want me to do?
[00:02:57 --> 00:03:00] His will for your life is that he can be close to you.
[00:03:02 --> 00:03:05] Next line, on earth as it is in heaven.
[00:03:05 --> 00:03:06] This is so cool.
[00:03:06 --> 00:03:07] Where are you?
[00:03:07 --> 00:03:09] You might be in your living room,
[00:03:09 --> 00:03:12] you might be watching this on a iPad,
[00:03:12 --> 00:03:16] but we are all on earth and God is in heaven.
[00:03:16 --> 00:03:21] And so we want to make earth so close to heaven,
[00:03:21 --> 00:03:23] we want to be so close to God.
[00:03:23 --> 00:03:25] How do we make earth like heaven?
[00:03:25 --> 00:03:29] God loves us so much that he wants us on earth
[00:03:29 --> 00:03:33] to spend forever with him in heaven.
[00:03:34 --> 00:03:38] So next line is give us this day our daily bread.
[00:03:38 --> 00:03:40] Daily bread?
[00:03:40 --> 00:03:41] Bread every day?
[00:03:41 --> 00:03:43] I can't eat bread every day.
[00:03:43 --> 00:03:45] What kind of bread is God talking about?
[00:03:45 --> 00:03:48] Is he talking about hot dog buns
[00:03:48 --> 00:03:51] or is he talking about pizza crust?
[00:03:51 --> 00:03:52] I like pizza.
[00:03:52 --> 00:03:53] I love sourdough bread.
[00:03:53 --> 00:03:55] I like bread with butter.
[00:03:55 --> 00:03:57] We're talking about God's bread.
[00:03:57 --> 00:03:58] What?

[00:03:59 --> 00:04:02] When we receive him in holy communion
[00:04:02 --> 00:04:06] and we never get tired of it because it's the best,
[00:04:06 --> 00:04:08] and it's daily bread
[00:04:08 --> 00:04:12] because Jesus wants to be with us every single day.
[00:04:15 --> 00:04:19] So I'm making a little host
[00:04:19 --> 00:04:21] that you would see at mass
[00:04:21 --> 00:04:25] and just making a little yellow cross on the host.
[00:04:28 --> 00:04:29] Try to eat it.
[00:04:31 --> 00:04:34] And forgive us our trespasses
[00:04:34 --> 00:04:37] as we forgive those who trespass against us.
[00:04:37 --> 00:04:38] No trespassing.

[00:04:41 --> 00:04:45] Sometimes we don't do what we're supposed to do,
[00:04:45 --> 00:04:49] sometimes we may not be the best to our mom or to our dad,

[00:04:52 --> 00:04:54] It's hard to forgive.
[00:04:54 --> 00:04:57] They do something mean to you, you may not like them.
[00:04:57 --> 00:05:00] We say sorry to our parents and they forgive us.
[00:05:00 --> 00:05:03] Same thing that happens with God.
[00:05:03 --> 00:05:07] All God wants to do is forgive us for the things
[00:05:07 --> 00:05:09] that we've done wrong, it's his mercy.

[00:05:11 --> 00:05:13] forgive us our trespasses
[00:05:13 --> 00:05:15] as we forgive those who trespass against us,
[00:05:15 --> 00:05:17] we're asking God for a big hug.

[00:05:22 --> 00:05:26] The next line is, and lead us not into temptation.
[00:05:26 --> 00:05:28] That's a big word, temptation.
[00:05:28 --> 00:05:29] What is temptation?
[00:05:29 --> 00:05:34] Temptation is when we have that urge to do something bad,
[00:05:34 --> 00:05:38] say something mean to our sibling or to our parents,
[00:05:38 --> 00:05:40] or want to eat all of the cookies
[00:05:40 --> 00:05:42] before your sister can get to them.
[00:05:42 --> 00:05:44] Sometimes when my brother annoys me,
[00:05:44 --> 00:05:45] I wanna do some things.
[00:05:45 --> 00:05:48] We're asking Jesus to protect us.
[00:05:48 --> 00:05:52] What's something that you can think of that protects you?
[00:05:52 --> 00:05:53] Like a shield, right?
[00:05:53 --> 00:05:55] Like a shield that a knight has.
[00:05:55 --> 00:06:00] So a shield protects you from bad things, God is our shield.
[00:06:01 --> 00:06:03] He protects us from temptation.
[00:06:05 --> 00:06:08] So you got the shield, you got the sword.
[00:06:08 --> 00:06:12] The last line of the Our Father is,
[00:06:12 --> 00:06:15] but deliver us from evil.
[00:06:15 --> 00:06:20] This is God being a shield for us, he protects us.
[00:06:20 --> 00:06:23] He loves us so much that he never wants
[00:06:23 --> 00:06:25] anything evil to happen to us.
[00:06:25 --> 00:06:30] The devil, all he wants to do is to make us do evil things.
[00:06:31 --> 00:06:32] But guess what?
[00:06:32 --> 00:06:34] You don't have to be afraid
[00:06:34 --> 00:06:38] because Jesus is like the best superhero ever
[00:06:38 --> 00:06:40] who always protects us from evil.
[00:06:40 --> 00:06:42] God will always protect me.
[00:06:42 --> 00:06:44] Jesus fights the devil.
