What’s the Story of St. Jose?

Are you familiar with the story of St. Jose? Amidst the chaos of battle, a young boy of 14 named José Sánchez del Río rode a horse with unwavering determination. Clutching a flag adorned with the colors of Mexico and an image of Mary as Our Lady of Guadalupe, he shouted, “Viva Cristo Rey, Long Live Christ the King!”

His trusty horse carried him through the chaos, but tragedy struck when he encountered the general and his fallen horse. José selflessly offered his horse to the general, urging him to escape the fray. The general reluctantly agreed and rode to safety while José fought valiantly but was ultimately captured by the enemy. His unwavering faith and sacrifice earned him the title of a martyr, and he is now known as St. José Sánchez del Río. Check out this video and hear more about St. Jose and his story.
